Perhaps it’s something to do with the time of year, but we’re selling a lot of cuddly toys at the moment.
At AFriendinNeed.co.uk we send gifts to people in hospital on behalf of friends and family who cannot to visit them in person. The friend or relative is able to choose from a range of gifts, but – in these cold, dark days in January – the gift they are choosing most often from our website is a teddy bear.
There is some sense in this. Snuggling down in bed with a cuddly friend is particularly appealing when the weather is uninviting outside – however warm the hospital ward may be.
Inspiration struck us in time for the New Year.
At AFriendinNeed.co.uk we send gifts to people in hospital on behalf of friends and family who cannot to visit them in person. It’s a service that is proving very popular.
But there is something else a hospital patient may often want as much as a present for themselves. That is to be able to give a small gift to the nurses and other hospital staff who take so much trouble to look after them.
So we’ve just added to the website a facility for the patient’s friend or relative to include a small additional gift that the patient can pass on to their carers.
It struck us as a good idea. Does anyone have any views?
We thought we’d begin the New Year by reviewing the greeting cards we offer our customers. So any regular visitors to our website may notice a revised range of cards.
At AFriendinNeed.co.uk we send gifts to people in hospital on behalf of friends and family who cannot to visit them in person. Wrapping up each present so that it looks as attractive as possible is an essential part of what we offer, as is enclosing a greeting card with a personal message from the friend or relative.
The design of the card itself, and the pre-printed message, are especially important. We try to make sure we have a variety of different styles, to appeal to those who just want to say “Get Well Soon” as well as to those who want their message to be more sensitive or emotional.
If you have a few moments to spare, or if you’re visiting the website anyway, we would value any feedback on our choice of cards.
A Happy New Year from AFriendinNeed.co.uk to everyone reading this blog!
Just before Christmas I wrote that I hoped not too many people would be spending the festive season in hospital this year. At our website we send gifts to people in hospital on behalf of friends and family who cannot to visit them in person – so anyone we sent a gift to over the Christmas period was unfortunately spending Christmas in hospital.
Well, there is some good news – I’m pleased to report a big reduction in the number of gifts we were asked to despatch over Christmas.
